NEWS RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Working with partner organizations and human rights practitioners, International Human Rights Advocates (IHRA) has begun a new initiative representing LGBT individuals who have been deprived of their life or liberty based solely upon their sexual orientation or gender identity.  Efforts will include filing petitions on their behalf with the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (UNWGAD), the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) and the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR).
